Made for This

You were not meant to sit on the sidelines of history—you were made for this. Like Jacob wrestling through the night, like those before us who met impossible moments with courage, we are called to step into this time with faith, resilience, and an unshakable commitment to justice. This is not just a struggle; it is an invitation—to wrestle, to refuse to let go, to trust that even in uncertainty, a blessing is waiting to be revealed. We’ll draw from history, from our Unitarian Universalist heritage, from the complicated story of this country, and from the wisdom and prophetic voices of the Hebrew Bible. We’ll remember that love has plans for us that we don’t expect—like Jonah. That the moment we’ve feared might be the very moment we were made for—like Esther. We refuse to let fear and division define the conversation on immigration, gender, and pluralism.. We will flip the script, reclaiming these struggles as sites of liberation, not division. What if we were made to rise? What if we were made to resist? What if we were made to have each other’s backs? What if we were made to speak truth? What if we were made to rebuild? What if we were made to protect one another? This moment asks something of us. And you may not feel ready, But together, we are ready. We are not powerless. We are not adrift. We were made for this.
